Michael Boldt
Associate, Attorney at law

Michael is a recently licensed attorney, and he is a graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law, with an IP Certificate. As an engineer, he has a technical background with significant experience in biomedical technology, including extensive studies on EKGs, pace makers, defibrillators, and DES technologies. For his capstone project, Michael worked on a Baxter sponsored healthcare system, which focused on bridging the gap between patients, caregivers, and medical devices.

 

In law school, Michael concentrated his studies on Business/Corporate law and Intellectual Property. He was a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society and was involved in the IP Patent Clinic. As an articles editor for the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property, he gained significant experience in reviewing complex citations before publication.

Michael has continued to pursue Business/Corporate and Intellectual Property in his law career. He has much experience amending patent applications, responding to NFOAs and FOAs, and filing ex parte reexaminations. Additionally, Michael is familiar with both trademark and trade dress applications, along with cancellation petitions. Schedule A e-commerce cases have also been a focus of his work, where he handles trade dress, design patent, trademark, and copyright infringement matters. Finally, Michael has experience in Contract law, including contract drafting and addendums, and Immigration law, including nonimmigrant visa classification, permanent residence, and investment-based immigration.
