Jun Ye, Partner
Jun Ye represents and counsels clients from different countries in all areas of U.S. patent practice. In close collaboration with startups and individual inventors, Mr. Ye has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications that are now issued as United States patents. Mr. Ye represents clients in telecommunications, artificial intelligence, blockchain, virtual reality/augmented reality, payment technology, autonomous vehicles, among others. Mr. Ye has also overseen and instructed foreign counsels to prosecute patent applications in Korea, Japan, China, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Ukraine, etc.
Before joining Getech Law, Mr. Ye worked at a few national law firms and helped clients such as Qualcomm, Mitsubishi, and MasterCard for their patent portfolio. Mr. Ye also represented startup companies in different stages, e.g., from seed round early stage to C round fundraising, understanding that companies in different stages may shape their IP practice differently. As part of that representation, Mr. Ye has provided strategic and leadership advice and assisted companies in developing aggressive IP strategies that protect the companies’ innovations and maximize the value of the companies’ IP portfolios.
Prior to law school, Mr. Ye served as an engineer for major semiconductor manufacturers in China and later co-founded his technology transfer business. Over the years, Mr. Ye has gained extensive experiences in both business practice and legal practice, which further ensures that Mr. Ye understands the clients not only from the legal perspective but also as a successful entrepreneur.
